A CO2 laser treatment just became a lot cooler.  Introducing the Tetra SmartXide CO2 Laser with CoolPeel ™ technology.

At Scottsdale Center for Plastic Surgery, we are thrilled to be among the first to offer the Tetra SmartXide CO2 Laser, also known as Tetra CO2 laser treatments, to Phoenix-area residents!  Tetra CO2 is an innovative way to safely, and comfortably, deliver the benefits of a traditional CO2 resurfacing treatment without the traditional downtime.  By targeting only the top layer of skin tissue, damaged skin is removed, revealing younger and healthier looking skin.

CO2 lasers have long been the gold standard in treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tightening skin and balancing tone.  Traditional CO2 treatments, however, have long been associated with considerable downtime.  The precision and the control of the Tetra CO2 allows you to get the skin resurfacing benefits you want without the downtime and risk.

Common Questions

What Is the Tetra CO2 Laser Treatment?

This is a brand-new way to safely and comfortably deliver the benefits of a traditional CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment!  By targeting the superficial layer of skin tissue, downtime is reduced, and damaged skin is removed.

What Makes the Tetra CO2 Different?

CO2 lasers are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, acne scars and tighten and brighten skin. Damaged skin tissue is removed, or ablated, stimulating new collagen production as heat energy is delivered to tighten the skin. Depending on the depth of treatment, CO2 treatments may require considerable downtime while damaged skin heals.

Many advances have been made to improve the side effects of CO2 treatments, but only the Tetra CO2 can deliver a fully ablative treatment without the downtime.

There is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, demarcation or induced infection. Tetra CO2 can only be performed using the Tetra CO2 SmartXide.

How Does the Tetra CO2 Work?

Only the Tetra has the precision and control to deliver energy at the right depth and speed for superficial skin resurfacing results without the lingering heat that can damage the surrounding skin.

This lack of unnecessary heat is where the Tetra CO2 gets its name and it delivers an immediate aesthetic effect with minimal downtime.

Who Is a Candidate for the Tetra CO2 ?

You are a good candidate for a Tetra CO2 laser treatment if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and sun damage, minimize pores and improve skin texture. Skin will look healthier and younger without the downtime to recover!

How Long Does a Tetra CO2 Laser Treatment Take?

A full-face Tetra CO2 laser treatment can take anywhere from 5-15 minutes.

Is Anesthesia or Numbing Required?

While there is no need for anesthesia or localized numbing, your provider may use a numbing cream for additional comfort.

What Is My Recovery Time?

One of the main benefits of a Tetra CO2 laser treatment is that there is minimal downtime. You should expect to be a little red, as if you have a sunburn, for a day or two, but nothing should prevent you from returning to your normal daily activities. Your skin may feel dry and scaly as it heals, so it is important to keep the skin hydrated.

When Can I Return to My Skincare Routine?

After your Tetra CO2 laser treatment, it is important to keep your skin hydrated. There may be certain products you should avoid. Talk to your provider about the best post-treatment care and when you can return to your daily skincare regimen.
