Brow Lift
The brow, which includes the forehead and eyebrows, is an extremely important cosmetic unit of the face. Through facial plastic surgery, the position of the brow can be elevated and stabilized to significantly impact overall appearance. Often, people focus more on their eyelids and lower face, overlooking how aged and tired a sagging brow can make them look. Over time and under gravity’s effect, the brow position naturally drops lower, which causes a number of cosmetic concerns.
Drooping of the brow frequently creates an angry or tired look and can also negatively affect the appearance of the upper eyelids. In severe cases, the brow can even block a patient’s vision when looking upward. By elevating the brow to its natural position with brow lift surgery, our Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, patients attain a rejuvenated forehead and improved appearance of the upper eyelids.
Receive a cosmetic consultation with Dr. Cohen or Dr. Sigalove to learn more about brow lifts. Our facility is conveniently located for women and men living in Tempe, Paradise Valley and other areas of Greater Phoenix.
Many people are nervous about having a brow lift because they have the mistaken belief that they will end up with a “surprised” look. When our surgeons perform a brow lift, the goal is never to raise the brows above their original anatomic position, or to create a “pulled” forehead. Rather, we strive to replace the brow to its natural position, restoring the delicate arch of the eyebrows in women, and keeping a straighter, masculine brow position in men.
Brow Lift Techniques
Many techniques are used for brow lifts, each of which has its own special advantages. Techniques range from subcutaneous dissection and skin elevation to deeper dissection and placement of dissolving anchors which suspend the forehead and brow. Which technique is offered is based on each patient’s unique anatomy, as well as his or her overall preferences and goals, which our surgeons will discuss in depth during a cosmetic surgery consultation.
If you are interested in learning more about what to expect during the recovery process following a brow lift, we encourage you to read our Post-Op FAQ (frequently asked questions). It offers information about post-operative issues such as incision care, time away from work, and ability to engage in exercise and other activities.
