IPL Photofacial
Sun spots, age spots, rosacea, spider veins and visible capillaries are telltale signs of aging skin. An IPL photofacial in Scottsdale is a light-based treatment that targets and destroys the pigmentation responsible for these imperfections, leaving you with clearer, younger-looking skin.
With IPL, you can improve the tone, texture and health of your skin in as few as 3 treatments. Schedule your skin care consultation to learn more about your skin rejuvenation options. Our facility is conveniently located for women and men living in Tempe, Paradise Valley and other parts of the Greater Phoenix area.
Understanding IPL Photofacial
The Sciton Joule X uses light to quickly and easily remove hyperpigmentation and vascular lesions. This method of treatment is often used on the face, but it is also appropriate for other areas of the body, including the chest and hands. There is little discomfort or downtime, and most people are very comfortable during the procedure.
The StarLux system is cleared by the FDA for the treatment of skin pigmentation.
IPL vs. BBL
BBL is a form of IPL photofacial treatment. It is an advanced form of IPL laser skin rejuvenation designed to treat signs of aging, active acne, pigmentation, and lines and wrinkles. We offer the Sciton Joule X laser, which includes the BBL HERO®, Forever Young BBL®, and Forever Clear BBL® laser treatments to enable us to treat a variety of skin issues using laser light technology.
Your Questions, Answered
What is photofacial?
It is a cosmetic treatment that uses gentle pulses of intense, optimized light to treat undesirable pigment and blood vessels that become visible as a result of aging, sun exposure and other factors.
How does it work?
Photofacial uses an optimized light device to deliver energy into your skin, targeting vascular and pigmented lesions, which slowly disappear as your body’s natural healing process progresses.
How many treatments will I need?
Some improvement is usually seen after one session. However, in most cases, it is recommended that patients have a series of 3 treatments to achieve the best results.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel little to no discomfort during the procedure.
How quickly will I recover?
You can resume regular daily activities immediately and may start to see some improvement right away.
What can I expect after treatment?
Most people experience a mild sunburn-like sensation following IPL, and sometimes it is accompanied by minor swelling. These side effects are temporary, usually lasting from 2 to 24 hours.
