Breast Reduction in Phoenix
The Scottsdale Center for Plastic Surgery serves women from the Phoenix area considering breast reduction surgery. This procedure is one of my favorite procedures, because women who have this surgery tend to be some of the happiest patients a board-certified plastic surgeon such as myself can have. The main reason for this is that breast reduction surgery not only lifts and reshapes the breasts, but it also alleviates neck, shoulder and back pain, rashes, bra-strap grooving, and many of the other problems associated with having large, heavy breasts.

Breast Reduction from a Phoenix Plastic Surgeon
I have had the unique opportunity to spend years training with major innovators in the area of breast reduction plastic surgery. Before opening my Phoenix area practice, I trained for multiple years with Dr. Carolyn Kerrigan and Dr. E. Dale Collins at Dartmouth, who are internationally recognized for their contributions to breast reduction surgery. With these two skilled surgeons, I had intensive training in an updated version of the "vertical" or "Lejour" breast reduction, as well as in the minimal scar breast reduction using liposuction for Phoenix and Scottsdale women. I was also fortunate enough to be accepted into the highly selective cosmetic surgery fellowship with Dr. Grant Stevens in Marina Del Rey, California. During my fellowship, we performed well over a hundred breast reductions using his innovative laser-assisted technique.
If you are interested in learning more about what to expect during the recovery process following breast reduction, I encourage you to read cosmetic surgery FAQ's (frequently asked questions) about post-operative issues such as care for incisions, time away from work, and ability to engage in exercise and other activities.
Common Goals for Breast Reduction
Dr. Cohen describes the benefits women experience after breast reduction in Scottsdale and how they often look and feel healthier.
When I perform plastic surgery in Phoenix, thanks to my extensive experience and certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, I have multiple cutting-edge techniques at my disposal; I tailor each woman's breast reduction procedure to best suit her individual expectations and body type. During the cosmetic surgery consultation in my Phoenix area medical office, I spend a significant amount of time finding out what bothers each patient most about her breasts, so that the procedure we choose together will specifically address each of these concerns. Whether performing breast reduction or breast augmentation near Phoenix, my goal is to produce natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing breasts that are proportionate to a patient's body. However, overall breast volume, areola size, and incision location can be adjusted based on each patient's personal wishes. When appropriate, I also use liposuction to shape the sides of the chest and the areas near the underarms to further aesthetically contour the upper body.
