The patient is a 64-year-old female who had previously undergone breast augmentation by another surgeon. The patient wished to have her implants removed and desired significantly smaller breasts. I felt that bilateral explantation with complete capsulectomies, lower pole tissue resection and inverted T-scar mastopexies would give the patient the best overall results.
In surgery I removed the patient's implants and capsules, and debulked a further 139 grams of tissue from the left side and 114 grams from the right due to a preoperative asymmetry.
She recovered quickly after surgery and was very happy with her smaller, perkier, implant-free breasts.
