This is a 28 year old patient who presented to my Scottsdale practice requesting a breast augmentation revision. She had previously undergone several submuscular breast augmentations elsewhere and complained of severe hyperanimation deformities. She was an avid rock climber and loved to exercise outdoors and her animation deformities interfered with her livelihood. We discussed performing subfascial revision surgery where the new implants would be placed on top of the muscle (below the fascia) in order to correct her hyperanimation. She wanted to look natural but “full.”
During her surgery, I replaced her pec muscle onto the chest wall and wrapped each of her new implants with Galaflex bioresorbable mesh (like a ravioli!) in order to stabilize her entire breast pocket. I tried several sizers intraoperatively, and ultimately used Sientra 300 cc Moderate Profile smooth round silicone gel implants as well as performing bilateral cicumareolar mastopexies, given her previously severely widened scars. She was thrilled with her outcome, and stated that her ability to rock climb and exercise was significantly improved. She is shown postoperatively, extremely happy with her result.
