This is a 62 year old female who presented to my Scottsdale practice feeling severely depressed about the appearance of her breasts. She had originally breast augmentation many years ago out of state. She developed a severe capsular contracture and her surgeon planned for a 2-stage revision: the first was to have her implants and capsules removed with a combined fat grafting procedure; the second was to be implant replacement with mastopexy. Sadly, she presented to my Scottsdale practice after having her implants and capsules removed because she developed a severely contracted right breast scar which was progressing.
Given my experience with breast reconstruction following mastecotomies, I used my knowledge to reconstruct her breasts. During her surgery, I was able to remove all of the adherent scar tissue and create a new pocket in the subfascial plane. I then wrapped each of her new breast implants with Galaflex bioresorbable mesh to stabilize the newly reconstructed breasts. On her right breast I placed a Sientra 270 cc Moderate Profile smooth round silicone gel implant, and on her left breast, I placed a Sientra 200 cc Moderate Profile smooth round silicone gel implant. Finally, I performed circumareolar mastopexies for improved nipple-areola complex repositioning. She is shown following her surgery, feeling truly restored and feminine again. This is a 33 year old female who presented to my Scottsdale practice requesting a breast augmentation. She felt that her breast size did not match the rest of her body and requested a proportionate yet “full” result. She also had asymmetry of her inframammary folds which caused her breasts to look uneven.
During her surgery, I repaired her asymmetric inframammary folds with Galaform 3D bioresorbable mesh and given the thinness of the tissues in the upper poles of her breasts, a dual-plane approach was performed. I placed Sientra 325 cc Moderate Profile Plus, highly cohesive smooth round silicone gel implants. She is shown following her surgery with a more curvy and yet proportionate result. She is thrilled with her outcome and feels so much more balanced overall.
