The patient is a 54-year-old female who had previously undergone breast augmentation surgeries by other surgeons. Most recently, the patient had had a recurrent capsular contracture of the right breast for which she had acellular dermal matrix placed. The patient subsequently had an infection and the matrix as well as the implant was removed. The patient decided to see me for the revision. I felt that replacement of the right implant with new Strattice would give the patient the best chance of complication-free surgery.
During surgery I placed a 450-cc Smooth Round high profile cohesive silicone gel implant to match the left side and placed Strattice as a reinforcement and to minimize the chance of capsular contracture. The patient was very relieved to have her breast symmetry back so she could wear regular clothes again.
Surgeon: Dr. Cohen
