This patient is a male in his thirties from the greater Phoenix, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with interest in surgery for gynecomastia (excess tissue in the male chest). This patient felt that his chest had too full an appearance, and wished to have a flatter, more masculine contour with less puffiness of the areolas.
On examination, I could tell that this patient had a combination of excess fat and glandular tissue (a firm, rubbery feeling breast tissue) in his chest. I recommended power assisted liposuction to correct the excess fat, as well as direct surgical removal of the excess glandular tissue through small incisions blended along the undersides of the areolas.
Surgery went very well, and I was able to significantly improve this patient's chest contour. He was very pleased with his natural appearing results, and felt much more confident with his shirtless appearance.
