This patient is a female in her 30s who struck her right ear during a fall, resulting in a complete tear of the ear skin and cartilage.  I saw this patient in the emergency room and thoroughly cleaned the ear, trimmed and sutured the cartilage, and sutured all of the complex ear lacerations.  She healed without complications, and the current appearance of her ear is nearly the same as it was before her injury less than 1 month after her accident.
