This patient is a 28 year old male from southern Arizona who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with interest in correction of his gynecomastia. This patient was in very good shape, but felt that there was excess fullnes in his chest.
On examination, I felt that this patient had a combination of excess fat, and glandular tissue (firm, rubbery breast tissue). I recommended a combination of power-assisted liposuction and direct glandular tissue removal through the lower areolar borders.
In surgery, I removed approximately 12 grams of glandular tissue from the right side and 24 grams from the left, in addition to approximately 200cc of fat from each side.
After surgery, the patient had a significant flattening of the breast which gave him a more masculine appearance. He was very happy with the overall improvement.
