Male Breast/Areola Reduction Case 95

This patient is a 57 year old male from the Phoenix, Arizona area who came to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice for correction of his gynecomastia (excess male breast tissue).  He was embarrassed by his appearance and was reluctant to wear thin or tight shirts due to the contour of his chest.

I felt that this patient would be an excellent candidate for correction of gynecomastia via power assisted liposuction and direct tissue removal through the areola.  I recommended removing the firm glandular tissue (breast tissue) using a small incision on the underside of the areola, in combination with debulking and smoothing out the excess fat with power assisted liposuction. 

I performed these surgeries, and removed almost 400cc of fat from each side via liposuction, and 15 grams of glandular tissue via direct excision.  The patient recovered very well and did not have any significant issues after surgery.  He was extremely happy with his new, flatter chest contour, and is now much more comfortable with his body.
