Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Case 302

This is a 53 year old femle from Scottsdale, Arizona who came to my Paradise Valley, Arizona area medical practice with complaints of deflated, droopy-appearing breasts and a bulging abdomen with loose skin after pregnancy. This patient wished to have perkier, fuller breasts and a flatter abdomen in order to look more like she did prior to childbirth.

For this patient, I recommended a "Mommy Makeover" which included a breast augmentation with silicone implants and a circumareolar mastopexy (around-the-areola breast lift), in combination with a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and liposuction of the love handles. I felt that this combination of procedures would restore her body to its pre-pregnancy appearance, while providing the most natural contours and minimizing scarring.

I performed a breast augmentation using Mentor smooth, round, moderate-plus profile cohesive silicone gel implants. Due to a mild asymmetry I used 300ccs on the right and 325ccs on the left. The implants were placed under the chest muscles and through the areolas, and after this, the breast skin was further tightened with a circumareolar mastopexy to avoid scars down the front of the breasts.

After the breasts were completed, I performed a full abdominoplasty with abdominal muscle tightening and removed many inches of excess skin and fat.  I also performed power-assisted liposuction of the love handles and removed approximately 800cc from each side.

The patient healed very well after surgery, and was extremely happy with the dramatically improved appearance of her body.
