This patient is a 34-year-old female who presented to my office with complaints of large pendulous breasts, which caused back, neck and shoulder issues. I felt bilateral breast reduction would give the patient the best overall results. I explained that more tissue would be removed from the right side than the left side due to preoperative asymmetry and the patient was also noted to have different base widths of the breasts and I explained that perfect symmetry would not be achievable. The patient was more concerned with being too large than to small and as a result a more significant reduction was planned.
During surgery a vertical (lollipop) breast reduction was performed to improve the patients symmetry, size and breast position. She recovered nicely after surgery and was very happy with her new appearance and improved back, neck and shoulder issues.
