The patient presented to my office with complaints of back, neck and shoulder discomfort due to large, heavy, pendulous breasts. Additionally, the patient's right breast was noted to be larger than the left. I felt that bilateral breast reduction would give the patient the best overall improvement with regards to her physical symptoms as well as her aesthetics.
During surgery I performed an anchor scar breast reduction and removed approximately 550 grams of tissue from the right and 400 grams from the left due to a preoperative asymmetry. The patient recovered quickly and was extremely happy with both her new appearance and the fact that her back and neck pain disappeared after her breast reduction.
